If you are interested in some advanced topics in shell scripting, this book is for you.<br \/>\nHowever, if you prefer to read a document in your e-book reader such as Kindle and Sony Reader, you are in trouble because the guide is only provided in <span class=\"caps\">TXT<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">HTML<\/span>, <span class=\"caps\">PDB<\/span>, and <span class=\"caps\">PDF<\/span> \/ PS format. <span class=\"caps\">PDB<\/span> is the closest thing to the modern e-book formats, but it seems like there\u2019s no good free converter <a href=\"http:\/\/bugs.calibre-ebook.com\/ticket\/1947\">yet<\/a>.<br \/>\nGood news is, because I really wanted to read it in my Kindle, I converted it into ePub and <span class=\"caps\">MOBI<\/span> format. Download them here:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"\/files\/abs-guide.epub\">abs-guide.epub<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"\/files\/abs-guide.mobi\">abs-guide.mobi<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Unfortunately, the conversion was done manually, so I\u2019m not sure I\u2019ll update it again when a new version is released since the guide is already good enough for me. Hopefully, once the author converts the <a href=\"http:\/\/bash.webofcrafts.net\/abs-guide-latest.tar.bz2\"><span class=\"caps\">SGML<\/span> source<\/a> into <span class=\"caps\">XML<\/span> and <a href=\"http:\/\/wiki.docbook.org\/topic\/DocBookXslStylesheets\">DocBook ePub stylesheet<\/a> matures, the conversion will be much simpler and completely automatic.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mendel Cooper\u2019s Advanced Bash-Scripting Guide is the most definitive and up-to-date guide for Bash.
